Big Woods State Park trail

Dancing Winds labyrinth

Location & Recreation

When you enter Goodhue County the terrain changes dramatically and you are surrounded by the plush and rolling prairie. Hiking and cross-country skiing can be enjoyed at nearby Big Woods State Park-near Nerstrand-which boasts the rare trout lilies and other woodland prairie flowers in their natural habitat. Bike enthusiasts will love riding on our country roads or have three different bike trails in the area to choose from: the Cannon River Trail (Cannon Falls to Welch to Red Wing), the Douglas Trail (Pine Island to Rochester), and the Sakatah Singing Trail (Faribault to Waterville to Mankato). Excellent canoeing and innertubing is available on both the Cannon and Zumbro rivers. Several local outfitters provide rental and shuttle service.

Kenyon is famous for the Rose Boulevard, which blooms profusely throughout the summer months. The Sleigh and Cutter Parade held annually in late February, draws a large, parade-loving crowd and is a fun, mid-winter family event. Visitors will enjoy a tour of The Gunderson House, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Kenyon also features an attractive nine-hole golf course and country club, a municipal swimming pool, two charming local cafes, the Kenyon Art Gallery and a new Library.

If you are shopping for the perfect antique, dealers are located on neighboring farms and in many surrounding communities.

For wine enthusiasts, northeast of Cannon Falls is Hastings, a charming Mississippi River town with the Alexis Bailey Winery, spotlighting Minnesota Wines.

And finally, back on the farm, you can enjoy a meditative walk around our 60' outdoor Labyrinth.
